From the Classroom

Strip and Flip - May 2016

Barb from my Strip and Flip class has been very productive and finished this great entirely scrappy version of my pattern in time for the Heritage Park Festival of quilts. Barb made this quilt in the larger size - see the Resources Tab on this blog for details on how to upsize the quilt to 60" x 80"

Mary from No Rules Quilting and a fellow member of the Calgary Modern Quilt Guild also had her Strip and Flip quilt in the Heritage Park Festival of Quilts.  Mary creatively used some of the leftover strips from her blocks to add a great border to her quilt. And, as always Mary did a fantastic job custom quilting this quilt.  Take a look.

Holly Toppers - November 2015

Judy completed her topper in a recent class and then promptly went home that night and long armed her topper.  Just look at the finished topper.  Judy's website for her long arm services is  www.longarmquilter.ca Quite the productive quilter, Judy!

Pat's interpretation of the pattern was "grapes and vines".  The colour possibilities for this topper are endless.

June wanted to use her Christmas fabric stash to complete her topper.  She chose a variety of Christmas prints, one red print and one background fabric for this striking topper.

Strip & Flip - October 2015

Here is Jill's Strip & Flip quilt done in batik fabrics.  Jill completed her quilt at a retreat this fall.  Great color choices.

Jackie had wanted to do an Amish quilt for some time, so she used Kona solids in two color ways for her quilt.  Very striking Jackie.

Barb ventured away from her usual color choices for this orange and teal beauty.  Barb long-armed her quilt with an orange and cream variegated Wonderfil thread.
